ETSI launches new group on IPv6 Enhanced Innovation – ETSI

ETSI has launched the ISG IPv6 Enhanced (IPE) innovation group, comprising 43 organizations including carriers, vendors, and academia, to accelerate IPv6 adoption across multiple use cases. The group’s kick-off meeting established a leadership team and identified key work objectives to develop guidelines for vertical industries such as finance, automotive, and manufacturing, as well as for telco operators. IPE will begin by analyzing the current landscape of IPv6 standards in 5G, IoT, and cloud computing to identify gaps, followed by reports on data center and 5G transport use cases. The initiative aims to define Industrial IoT requirements and IPv6-only transition strategies to drive full connectivity and business success for the technology.
