ETSI Future Railway Mobile Communication System interoperability testing event starting today – ETSI

The ETSI FRMCS Plugtests event in Paris validates the interoperability of railway mobile broadband systems using 3GPP Mission Critical Services frameworks and ETSI TS 103 564 specifications. Vendors tested a wide range of equipment including MCX application servers, clients, UEs, cab radios, and 5G RAN and packet core components to ensure seamless operation. The event featured remote pre-testing via an ETSI VPN hub and onsite demonstrations of vendor solutions to assess relevant use cases for the railway value chain. An observer program brought together regulators and operators from Europe, Asia, and the US to discuss deployment progress and harmonization challenges for FRMCS.
