ETSI interop event for future rail communication reports a success rate of 86% – ETSI

The FRMCS Plugtests event held in Paris from July 3 to 7, 2023, successfully executed over 300 tests across 80 sessions to validate seamless FRMCS access over 5G networks using 3GPP Release-17 specifications. The testing covered critical MCX services including Mission Critical Push to Talk, Data, and Video, alongside specific railway-oriented features and emergency scenarios. Results from these sessions will be incorporated into a future revision of the ETSI TS 103 564 specification to ensure interoperability among different vendors. The next FRMCS Plugtests event is scheduled for June 2024.
