New governance for ETSI’s General Assembly and IPR committee – ETSI

Dr. Neviana Nikoloski was elected as the new chair of ETSI’s General Assembly, bringing over a decade of experience in spectrum management and medical device standards. Mr. Dominique Wurges and Mr. Vladimir Poulkov were elected as vice chairs, representing Orange and the user sector respectively, with a focus on accessibility, cybersecurity, and SME interests. The IPR Special Committee appointed Mr. Steve Faraji from AUDI as its new chair, marking the entry of the automotive sector into leadership roles to address 5G and IoT patent issues. Additionally, the General Assembly approved new partnership agreements with Shift2Rail, AREA, and other bodies to harmonize standards across rail, augmented reality, and critical communications. These strategic moves aim to expand ETSI’s ecosystem and ensure inclusive standardization for emerging technologies like 5G and smart cities.
