ETSI Multi-access Edge Computing opens new working group for MEC deployment – ETSI

The ETSI MEC ISG has established the DECODE working group to accelerate market adoption of Multi-access Edge Computing by focusing on implementation, testing, and interoperability. Led by Dr. Walter Featherstone, the group aims to facilitate the use of open source components, define best practices for system deployment, and expose OpenAPI-compliant MEC specifications to third-party developers. Activities include developing API conformance guidelines, releasing updated white papers on edge cloud software development, and transitioning from proofs of concept to commercial MEC Deployment Trials. This initiative seeks to enable operators to offer subscribers a new level of experience by leveraging contextual information available at the network edge.
