ETSI releases 3 new ontology specifications for Smart Cities, Industry 4.0 and Smart Agriculture – ETSI

ETSI TC smartM2M has released new SAREF specifications to enable semantic interoperability across diverse IoT sectors, building on the 2017 release of the first IoT ontology standard. The SAREF4CITY standard provides a common data ontology for smart city applications like eHealth and street lighting, while SAREF4INMA addresses factory interoperability to support zero-defect manufacturing and precise production tracking. Additionally, SAREF4AGRI defines sensor descriptions for smart agriculture, enabling decision support for livestock and irrigation by integrating data from GPS, satellites, and local sensors. These standards operate atop the oneM2M framework to ensure seamless data sharing between different providers and activity sectors.
