ETSI introduces a new end-to-end architectural framework for network and service automation – ETSI

ETSI GS ZSM 001 and ZSM 002 define a modular, service-based architecture for end-to-end network and service automation that supports closed-loop operations optimized for machine learning and artificial intelligence. The framework emphasizes the separation of management and automation concerns to reduce complexity, while ensuring robust security and privacy for data throughout the system. This architecture provides a common foundation for interoperable solutions, integrating work from organizations like 3GPP and ONAP to enable autonomous networks with self-configuration and self-healing capabilities. The group continues to specify management interfaces for emerging network slicing and remains open to contributions from both ETSI members and external industry players.
