ETSI Multi-access Edge Computing group reaches 100 members confirming attractiveness of the group – ETSI

ETSI MEC is advancing 5G edge computing through over 20 published specifications that address critical needs like low latency, data compliance, security, and cost reduction for industries including automotive and factory automation. The group recently released reports on alternative virtualization technologies and network slicing to further support these evolving requirements. To assist application developers, ETSI is also launching a publicly accessible online edge sandbox that allows experimentation with standardized MEC Service APIs in emulated city and indoor network environments. This initiative aims to streamline the integration of edge services with 3GPP LTE/5G and WLAN access networks for real-time IoT and AR/VR applications.
