ETSI’s new group on COVID-19 tracing apps interoperability moving fast: officials elected and work programme set up – ETSI

The ETSI ISG E4P group kicked off with 50 online attendees representing 36 global organizations, electing Edgar Guillot as Chair to lead work on pandemic contact tracing standards. The group has approved three work items, including a comparative analysis of existing systems focusing on interoperability, security, and privacy, as well as defining requirements for mobile-based tracing solutions. A key deliverable is an interoperability framework designed to enable seamless operation between centralized and decentralized modes across various applications and device platforms. With the first French Bluetooth-based application already downloaded over 600,000 times, the group aims to deliver its initial report by the end of summer to address the urgent need for standardized, cross-border solutions.
