ETSI OSM Release TEN marks a strategic shift toward production operations, introducing a decoupled architecture for improved resilience in edge and geo-redundant deployments. The release adds native support for Microsoft Azure alongside existing VIMs and Kubernetes, while optimizing container images to be 50% smaller and enhancing scale-in/scale-out capabilities. New features include a distributed VNF configuration abstraction, a Juju operational dashboard for real-time visibility, and expanded subscription management tools based on ETSI NFV-SOL 005. These updates are validated by the recent OSM#11 Hackfest, where participants successfully onboarded various proprietary and open-source network functions for MEC and service discovery use cases.
