Japan hosts TSGs#111 in Fukuoka

The 3GPP TSGs#111 plenary meetings were held in Fukuoka, Japan, from March 9 to 13, 2026, to review progress on 5G Advanced specifications and initiate early studies for 6G. The three technical groups—CT, RAN, and SA—received guidance and approvals to advance their work toward the next plenary in June. The event also featured a social cocktail and technology exhibitions by the XG Mobile Promotion Forum showcasing 5G Advanced and future 6G developments. Jointly hosted by 3GPP Organizational Partners ARIB and TTC, the meeting continued Fukuoka’s role as a hub for international telecommunications standards.
