ETSI launches a new open-source group: TeraFlowSDN – ETSI

TeraFlowSDN is developing an open-source, cloud-native SDN controller designed for high-capacity IP and optical networks to support autonomous operations and cybersecurity. The software will integrate with existing NFV and MEC frameworks, specifically interoperating with ETSI OSM, to accelerate standardization cycles and facilitate proof-of-concept demonstrations. Founding members including Atos, CTTC, NEC Europe, and Telefonica aim to ease SDN adoption for telco operators while providing building blocks for future 5G PPP and SNS JU research projects. The group’s kick-off meeting is scheduled for June 20, 2022, with additional members like Globe Telecom and NTNU joining the initiative.
