The 6G4Society project, funded by the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking, prioritizes sustainability as a core pillar for the development of 6G technology by integrating societal values and ethical principles into network design. Key activities include the release of Deliverable D1.1, which outlines societal aspects and sustainability indicators, alongside workshops that explore objective and subjective approaches to measuring these key value indicators. The consortium, led in part by eBOS, focuses on bridging the gap between technological advancement and public acceptance through continuous market watches and the development of a Common Key Sustainability Indicators Framework. By engaging regulators, policymakers, and civil society, the project aims to ensure that future 6G deployments are inclusive, energy-efficient, and aligned with European societal needs.
