The 6G4Society project officially launched its External Advisory Board on September 12, 2024, with eight experts in telecommunications, sustainability, and regulation tasked with guiding the initiative’s strategic direction and ensuring ethical alignment. The board reviewed the project’s three core work packages, which focus on assessing 6G’s societal impact, conducting public engagement through citizen surveys, and fostering collaboration within the 6G-IA ecosystem. Key deliverables discussed include the upcoming submission of a sustainability indicators report and the refinement of a Social Acceptance of Technology model to address public concerns. Moving forward, the group established a roadmap for regular follow-ups and joint activities, such as a webinar with Hexa-X II, to ensure 6G development remains inclusive and sustainable across Europe.
