The Datacom Industry Association (DIA) has expanded its European outreach following its inaugural Munich event, engaging with industry leaders at key gatherings including the 6G-XR Impact Day in Barcelona and AIOTI Days 2025 in Madrid. During these sessions, Secretary General Dirk Trossen and other experts emphasized the critical role of immersive 5G and 6G connectivity in transforming vertical sectors like manufacturing and media, while stressing the need for strict runtime compliance and data locality in critical infrastructure. Further discussions at Huawei Connect Europe and the Fifth Visions for Future Communications Summit addressed WiFi7 advancements and outlined research challenges for supporting global-scale AI services within the upcoming NetworldEurope Strategic Research & Innovation Agenda. Through these collaborative efforts, the DIA aims to foster interoperability and reinforce Europe’s leadership in the development of next-generation communication systems.
