6G-IA and ETSI sign MoU bridging the gap between European research, standards and industry – ETSI

The 6G-IA, representing European industry and research, has joined forces with ETSI to strengthen the development of 5G evolution and 6G standards through collaboration in the ETSI Research, Innovation and Standards Ecosystem. This partnership aims to align the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking’s research roadmap with global standardization efforts, ensuring European leadership in next-generation networks. The collaboration will be highlighted at the upcoming ETSI Research Conference, where 6G-IA Board Chair Colin Willcock will lead a session on national 6G initiatives and their integration with EU research programs. With the SNS JU planning to invest at least 1.8 billion Euros in 6G research from 2021 to 2027, this alliance seeks to translate cutting-edge research into robust, world-class standards.
