CEN, CENELEC, and ETSI have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Euro-Asian Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification (EASC) to foster closer collaboration on standardization efforts between Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States. The agreement commits the four organizations to targeted dialogues and the mutual acceptance of standards across diverse sectors including telecommunications, energy efficiency, construction, and medical engineering. By promoting the harmonization of technical specifications, the partnership aims to facilitate trade in goods and services while supporting sustainable economic growth between the EU and CIS countries. This formalized cooperation was concluded during the 41st EASC jubilee meeting in Almaty, Kazakhstan, with the goal of reducing technical barriers through recognized European standards.
