ETSI announces MEC Sandbox for edge app developers – ETSI

The ETSI MEC Sandbox offers an interactive environment where developers can experiment with standardized RESTful APIs for Multi-access Edge Computing, including real-time access to network, context, and location information. These APIs, defined in ETSI GS MEC 009 and available in YAML and JSON formats, allow users to configure applications within a simulated test environment featuring various network technologies like 4G, 5G, and Wi-Fi. The platform enables hands-on testing of specific service APIs such as Location (MEC013), Radio Network Information (MEC012), and WLAN Information (MEC028) to enhance edge-based application performance. Additionally, a companion Wiki provides resources on ecosystem development, API conformance testing, and third-party MEC solutions to further accelerate market adoption.
