ETSI blockchain group releases first Reports, targeting industry and governmental bodies – ETSI

ETSI ISG PDL has released three new technical reports, GR PDL 002, 003, and 004, to establish standards for permissioned distributed ledgers in utility and telecom sectors. These documents address data processing compliance, define application scenarios with a focus on as-a-service models, and provide a functional framework for the secure planning and testing of smart contracts. The specifications aim to enable interoperable solutions that offer lower transaction costs, offline operation, and enhanced resilience for business and governmental use cases. By addressing both technical consensus mechanisms and legal regulatory requirements, the standards facilitate safe data exchange and reliable integration within enterprise ecosystems.
