The second ETSI MCPTT Plugtests in August 2018 involved 31 vendors and 120 participants who executed over 2,000 tests based on a specification of 100 cases, achieving a 92% success rate. These interoperability trials allowed vendors to validate their implementations against the ETSI TS 103 564 standard, with failures providing critical feedback to resolve ambiguities and improve future specifications. The event’s observations were subsequently fed back to 3GPP working groups to support the development of a unified global standard for mission-critical services. ETSI is now preparing for a third remote MCX Plugtests event in late 2018 and a fourth face-to-face event scheduled for June 2019.
