The ETSI NFV ISG has released its second set of documents, completing Phase 1 with 11 specifications that establish a common architectural framework, terminology, and management standards for Network Functions Virtualization. These publications define key concepts and interoperability requirements, building on over 30 multi-company proof-of-concept demonstrations to enable a unified industry language. Phase 2 is now underway with 28 new documents aimed at formalizing normative requirements for testing and fostering closer collaboration with other standards bodies and open-source projects. The initiative, involving more than 240 organizations, continues to prioritize pragmatic interoperability and vendor roadmap alignment to advance the NFV ecosystem.
