ETSI Open Source MANO unveils Release SEVEN, enables more than 20,000 cloud-native applications for NFV environments – ETSI

Canonical and the OSM community have released OSM SEVEN, a major update that deploys containerized network functions on Kubernetes and extends SDN support for I/O-intensive applications. The release introduces simplified plugin models, enhanced workflows for complex VNF configuration, and expanded infrastructure compatibility including Azure and VMware vCD 10. Key partners like Whitestack and Tata Elxsi are integrating these features to reduce lifecycle costs and enable smarter, software-centric 5G networks. The OSM ecosystem now comprises 137 organizations, with a community hackfest scheduled for March 2020 in Madrid to further develop these open-source MANO capabilities.
