ETSI publishes a new white paper on Fixed 5th generation advanced – ETSI

The ETSI Industry Specification Group F5G envisions a sixth-generation fixed network that evolves across six key dimensions: increased bandwidth and speed, expanded scope with improved energy efficiency, integrated computing intelligence, enhanced operational awareness, and greater trustworthiness. These advancements aim to support new industrial markets, the metaverse, and smart society infrastructures while reducing operational costs and addressing sustainability challenges. To achieve this evolution, the group is developing technical specifications that define network generations and architectures, establishing a regular rhythm of technological enhancement comparable to wireless generations.
