ETSI to develop European Standards for Cybersecurity – ETSI

ETSI has established a new technical committee, TC CYBER, to develop interoperable standards for cybersecurity in response to rising threats from social media, cloud services, and mobile devices. The committee will focus on creating specifications for secure infrastructures, devices, and protocols while providing guidance to manufacturers and network operators to enhance privacy across Europe. Building on existing ETSI work in threat analysis and encryption algorithms, TC CYBER aims to serve as a central hub of expertise to support a strong digital market and the Internet of Things. Over 100 member organizations have already expressed interest in joining the committee, which will hold its first meeting in Sophia-Antipolis in May 2014.
