ETSI’s group on IPv6 extended to release V2X and security reports – ETSI

The ETSI ISG IP6 has released seven group reports addressing critical deployment areas for IPv6, including 6TiSCH interoperability, 5G mobile wireless internet, SDN/NFV, industrial internet, IoT, and enterprise migration strategies. IPv6 was developed to resolve IPv4 address exhaustion and enable new services with improved end-to-end security, utilizing a 128-bit address space that offers over 7.9×10^28 addresses. Beyond expanding capacity, the protocol provides enhanced features such as simplified router processing, Quality of Service, security, and IP mobility to meet global internet demands. These efforts aim to support the full expansion of internet requirements across all industries and regions without creating a digital divide.
