Home Gateway Initiative transfers smart home related requirements to ETSI – ETSI

The Home Gateway Initiative (HGI) has transferred three completed requirements specifications documents to ETSI for publication and maintenance under the SmartM2M Technical Committee. These documents, covering the HGI Open Platform 2.1, smart home architecture, and wireless home area networks, will be integrated with existing oneM2M work to form a modular foundation for smart home solutions. This collaboration allows the industry to leverage ETSI’s global reach and standardization expertise while ensuring HGI’s results remain available through June 2016. The move establishes a formal pathway for HGI’s technical work to complement ETSI’s ongoing efforts in defining smart appliance and home network standards.
