Open Source MANO Release NINE fulfils ETSI’s zero-touch automation vision, ready for MEC and O-RAN use cases – ETSI

OSM Release NINE marks the culmination of nearly five years of development, delivering a production-ready, carrier-grade orchestration stack that fully aligns with ETSI NFV standards to ensure multi-vendor interoperability. This release introduces a next-generation resource orchestration engine for handling differential scenarios and rollback capabilities, alongside extended lifecycle management for VNFs and CNFs that now supports Helm 3 for Kubernetes-based applications. To facilitate smoother integration with external OSS/BSS systems, the update includes enhanced role-based access control and standardized subscription APIs, while also adding multi-tenancy support to the Grafana dashboard. The release validates these capabilities through a major production deployment by Telefónica Chile, making it the first operator in Latin America to adopt ETSI standards for VNF orchestration.
