Standardization conference explores EU cybersecurity legislation – ETSI

The recent conference in Sophia Antipolis brought together the European Commission, ENISA, and major standards bodies like CEN, CENELEC, and ETSI to discuss the EU’s cybersecurity standardization landscape. Key speakers emphasized that standards are essential for strengthening collective resilience, ensuring product trustworthiness, and supporting the revision of the NIS directive and the EU Digital Identity regulation. To further policy alignment, ENISA released two new reports identifying gaps in existing standards for risk management and 5G cybersecurity while offering recommendations to enhance coverage. The event concluded with a consensus on the strategic necessity of closer collaboration among all stakeholders to foster a secure digital ecosystem.
