ETSI launches a Technical Committee on Data Solutions (TC DATA) to encourage the adoption of new standards in line with the European Data Governance Act – ETSI

ETSI’s Technical Committee DATA is launching to develop open technical specifications that enable secure, privacy-preserving data sharing for advanced AI and machine learning applications. The committee aims to create distributed infrastructures that address complex interoperability needs while balancing technical requirements with legal and ethical rights, in close collaboration with the European Commission to support the EU Data Governance Act. Although the initial focus is on telecommunications networks, the group plans to extend these open data principles to other sectors including maritime transport, eHealth, and agriculture. This initiative seeks to establish a global ecosystem that ensures data reliability, access control, and consistency across diverse industrial environments.
