The IML4E project, coordinated by Fraunhofer FOKUS, has received the ITEA Award of Excellence for Standardisation in recognition of its collaboration with ETSI MTS to advance industrial machine learning techniques. The consortium’s work includes the publication of Report ETSI TR 103 910 on AI testing and the development of specification ETSI TS 104 008 regarding conformity assessment and auditing of AI systems. These open-source outputs and industry-focused best practices aim to establish a robust foundation for Europe’s leadership in responsible and scalable artificial intelligence. The award highlights the successful partnership between the research community and standardisation bodies in delivering practical tools for enterprise applications.
