ETSI has released a new report detailing practical implementation insights for Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces, covering unit cell design, switching methods, controller architectures, and associated costs alongside field trial data. A second report focuses on diversity and multiplexing schemes, highlighting how RIS can enhance performance similarly to MIMO technologies in LTE and 5G networks. Additionally, the ETSI RIS group has updated three foundational reports on use cases, architectural challenges, and channel modeling to reflect the latest advancements in RIS research and standardization. These documents collectively serve as a critical reference for developing RIS-integrated systems and future cellular specifications.
