ETSI issues new Report on Security, Privacy, Trustworthiness and Sustainability for 6G Integrated Sensing and Communications – ETSI

ETSI has published report GR ISC 004, which outlines security, privacy, trustworthiness, and sustainability requirements for Integrated Sensing and Communications (ISAC) in future 6G systems. The document identifies 19 key issues, including 15 related to security and privacy such as protection against unauthorized sensing and target-based eavesdropping, alongside four sustainability concerns regarding power consumption and environmental impact. It establishes technical and non-technical requirements to ensure the secure transport of sensing data, privacy-preserving mechanisms for human subjects, and confidentiality in sensitive spaces. This report serves as a foundational guide for embedding trust and resilience into the design of next-generation ISAC-enabled networks.
