University of Oulu hosted Latvian defence and technology delegation

A delegation of Latvian companies visited the University of Oulu to explore research collaboration in 6G connectivity, defence technology, and artificial intelligence, facilitated by the Finnish Chamber of Commerce in Latvia. Hosted by the 6G Flagship, the group toured the NATO DIANA 6G Test Centre and identified joint R&D programmes as a key area for future cooperation. Following the visit, representatives from LMT Innovations and Latvijas Mobilais Telefons held follow-up sessions to define concrete next steps. This engagement aligns with Latvia’s significant increase in defence spending, which has nearly doubled since 2022 as the nation expands its technological capabilities.
