The 6G Smart Networks and Services Industry Association (6G-IA) elected a new Governing Board for a three-year mandate in March 2026 and signed multiple Memoranda of Understanding to strengthen collaboration with key stakeholders including 5G-ACIA, ERTICO, Public Safety Communication Europe, and the Bharat 6G Alliance. These partnerships aim to align industrial requirements with next-generation mobile technologies, accelerate innovation in connected mobility and public safety, and ensure future networks effectively support diverse sector needs. Additionally, leading international research alliances endorsed shared principles for 6G development focused on security, openness, resilience, inclusivity, and sustainability by design. The association continues to advocate for ambitious funding in the upcoming FP10 framework to support collaborative research and maintain Europe’s competitiveness in the global telecommunications landscape.
