DARPA QuANET Workshop | NIST

DARPA and NIST are hosting a workshop to advance standards for the Quantum-Augmented Networking (QuANET) program, specifically focusing on Phase 2 development. The session aims to establish agreed-upon performance metrics and physical testing plans that will define how quantum networks are evaluated. This collaborative effort is designed to create a common language for measuring the reliability and speed of quantum communication links between different systems.

Registration for the workshop closes in May 2026, with a major system integration event scheduled for September 2026. During the event, participants will tour testing laboratories and prepare equipment for continuous evaluation. Successfully establishing these benchmarks will allow future quantum networks to be built with verified standards, ensuring they are robust and interoperable.
