The Smart Network and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) launched its fourth call for proposals on April 14, 2025, with a €104 million EU funding allocation to advance 6G research through advanced technology streams and experimental infrastructure development. This initiative will be prominently showcased at the EuCNC & 6G Summit in Poznań from June 3 to 6, 2025, where SNS projects will highlight innovations in AI, network evolution, and sustainable connectivity. Concurrently, the European Commission unveiled the InvestAI initiative to mobilize €200 billion for AI gigafactories and a broader AI Continent Action Plan to strengthen digital sovereignty. These efforts are supported by a €1.3 billion investment package under the Digital Europe Programme for 2025–2027, focusing on AI, cybersecurity, and digital skills to enhance Europe’s technological resilience.
