ETSI ISAC industry specification group sets strategic direction for 6G with renewed leadership – ETSI

Following the October 21, 2025 election, the ETSI ISAC ISG has re-elected Alain Mourad as Chair and Richard Stirling-Gallacher and Ayman Naguib as Vice-Chairs, while newly appointing Christos Masouros to the Vice-Chair role. The group will now advance the second release of ISAC standards by focusing on advanced architecture enablers, privacy and security protocols, and energy-efficient technologies integrated with AI and computing. Building on the foundational work of the first release, the ISG aims to finalize channel models and use cases to support ISAC capabilities in future 6G systems. Work item proposals for this next phase will be reviewed at the upcoming plenary meeting in London from December 16-18, 2025.
