The ETSI ISG MAT was officially launched in London with 24 participants to develop advanced Multiple Access Techniques for IMT-2030 and 6G systems. Dr. David Vargas of the BBC was elected as Chair, with Prof. Bruno Clerckx and Dr. Stephen Wang serving as Vice Chairs, to lead the group’s focus on transmitter and receiver processing structures and physical layer procedures. The initiative aims to deliver Group Reports for 3GPP standardization, targeting high-demand density areas and immersive experiences through proof-of-concepts and field trials. This work supports the evolution of 6G as a pervasive communication system capable of efficient, reliable media delivery at scale.
