The FRMCS Plugtests event in Sophia Antipolis brought together 83 in-person and 67 remote delegates to test and validate 3GPP Release-18 specifications for mission-critical railway communications. Participants successfully verified key scenarios including ad-hoc groups, IP connectivity, and GSM-R interworking functions through live demonstrations and comprehensive testing. The event also featured workshops on quality of service and future integration with 5G, with all findings to be compiled into a report to guide standardization efforts. This global collaboration aimed to accelerate the deployment of FRMCS solutions by addressing technical challenges and sharing industry insights.
