The University of Oulu’s 6G Flagship programme has released the 11th issue of its bi-annual magazine, 6G Waves, highlighting the world’s first 6G research initiative’s blend of academic and industrial collaboration. Key developments include the expansion of the 6G Test Centre with tactical communications and RF hardware from partners like Bittium and Keysight, alongside top-ranked EU projects in AI-RAN and 6G XR. The programme continues to drive global leadership through over 240 international partnerships, 457 company collaborations, and the development of wearable health technologies and secure spectrum management solutions. Looking ahead, the initiative will co-host the EuCNC & 6G Summit 2026 in Málaga and leverage Oulu’s status as the 2026 European Capital of Culture to further promote its high-tech ecosystem.
