The 6G4Society consortium held its first review meeting to evaluate progress on four work packages focused on societal impact, public engagement, coordination, and standardization. Work Package 1 introduced the Social Acceptance of Technology (SAT) framework and Key Sustainability Indicators (KSIs) to align 6G development with societal needs, while Work Package 2 launched a multilingual citizen survey and outreach materials to gauge public perspectives. Work Package 3 established collaborations to integrate Key Value Indicators (KVIs) into future frameworks, and Work Package 4 advanced standardization efforts through ontology development and a roadmap for CEN publication. Reviewers provided constructive feedback on the distinction between KVI and KSI, the SAT framework’s application, and strategies for sustaining outreach impact. The consortium received positive reinforcement for its innovative integration of social sciences into technical 6G development and plans to refine its approach based on the meeting’s insights.
