6G4Society has released its first white paper, “Towards a Sustainable and Socially Accepted 6G for Society,” which advocates for a sustainability-by-design approach to integrate environmental stewardship and social equity into future network development. The document proposes using Key Value Indicators (KVIs) alongside traditional performance metrics to ensure 6G technologies contribute positively to society and the environment. It further distinguishes between social acceptance and acceptability, emphasizing that both current attitudes and future ethical implications must be addressed for successful deployment. Finally, the paper underscores the critical role of public engagement and inclusive decision-making in building the trust necessary for the widespread adoption of 6G.
