A new phase in oneM2M standardization – ETSI

The oneM2M Technical Plenary in Miyazaki, attended by over 120 delegates, advanced the system architecture specification with a target to freeze the document in early February 2014. The meeting confirmed that future protocol work will incorporate COAP, HTTP, and MQTT through new binding specifications currently being developed via web conferencing. Additionally, a new Work Item was established to initiate Release 2, opening the use case documentation for further industry input. These efforts continue the partnership’s goal of defining global, access-independent M2M management specifications for diverse applications like smart grids and connected vehicles.
