ETSI launches Quantum Safe Cryptography specification group – ETSI

Mark Pecen of Approach Infinity, Inc. has been elected chair of ETSI’s ISG QSC, a new group established to address the security threats quantum computers pose to current cryptographic techniques. The group’s initial work program focuses on developing a quantum-safe algorithmic framework, characterizing cryptographic primitives, and assessing threats and standards for the quantum era. ISG QSC aims to bridge the gap between academic research and industry needs by collaborating with existing ETSI committees and international bodies like NIST and ITU. Participation in the group is open to all ETSI members and non-members who sign the required ISG agreements.
