New ETSI group develops Open Source for NFV – ETSI

ETSI has launched the OSM project to deliver an open source MANO stack that implements the NFV Orchestrator and VNF Manager components of the ETSI NFV architectural framework. This initiative aims to provide a regularly updated reference implementation that facilitates interoperability and offers practical feedback to the ETSI NFV ISG while enabling vendors to rapidly deploy NFV solutions. Founding members include BT, Canonical, Intel, Mirantis, RIFT.io, Telefonica, Telekom Austria Group, and Telenor, with participation open to all ETSI members and non-members. An initial demonstration of the OSM stack will be showcased at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February 2016.
