The first Next Generation 112 (NG112) Emergency Communications Plugtests launched in Sophia Antipolis, France, to independently and jointly trial all components of the 112 communication chain based on next-generation networks. This event, organized by ETSI and EENA, allows global solution providers to test interoperability for critical features such as location-based and policy-based emergency call routing, as well as next-generation media types. By validating these standards against various implementations, the initiative aims to enhance the effectiveness of emergency response systems for citizens across Europe. The testing campaign, supported by the European Commission, focuses on use cases developed to address the increasing demands of content-rich emergency calling.
