IoT ecosystem expands significantly with new global standards from oneM2M – ETSI

The oneM2M global standards initiative has published Release 2, a comprehensive set of 17 specifications that significantly expands the IoT ecosystem by enabling devices lacking native protocols to connect seamlessly. This release introduces critical interworking capabilities with AllJoyn, OIC, and LWM2M standards while implementing robust end-to-end security features including dynamic access control and semantic interoperability. The new framework supports secure data exchange across diverse industries, facilitating the deployment of billions of connected devices by 2020. Additionally, developers now have access to user-friendly APIs and a registry for standardized application identifiers to accelerate the adoption of these universal IoT protocols.
