ETSI launches new group on Context Information Management for smart city interoperability – ETSI

The ETSI ISG CIM is launching to develop specifications for a common context information management API, data publication platforms, and standard data models to address the growing need for interoperable context in smart applications. This group aims to define protocols that allow IoT data to be exchanged alongside essential metadata such as what was measured, when, where, and by what device, thereby extending application interoperability. The initiative will collaborate closely with the ETSI SmartM2M technical committee and oneM2M to leverage the IoT as a primary source of context data for smart cities and third-party services. Participation is open to all ETSI members and non-member organizations upon signing the required ISG agreements.
