The first ETSI NFV Plugtests event in Leganes, Madrid, focuses on validating interoperability for ETSI NFV Release 2 specifications and the Open Source MANO Release ONE. Over 40 commercial and open source implementations, including 20 virtual network functions, 10 management and orchestration solutions, and 10 NFV platforms, will undergo two weeks of rigorous testing to verify end-to-end capabilities like descriptor management and lifecycle operations. The test plan, developed by ETSI’s Center for Testing and Interoperability, builds on methodologies from the NFV testing working group to ensure alignment across the ecosystem. Key open source projects such as ETSI OSM, Open Baton, OPEN-O, and OPNFV will participate alongside major vendors to stimulate synergy and provide feedback to the NFV Industry Specification Group.
