New ETSI group on improving operator experience using Artificial Intelligence – ETSI

ETSI has launched the Experiential Network Intelligence (ENI) Industry Specification Group to define a Cognitive Network Management architecture based on the observe-orient-decide-act model. This system utilizes artificial intelligence and context-aware policies to automatically adjust network services in response to changing user needs, environmental conditions, and business goals. The group aims to reduce operator expenditure by automating configuration and monitoring while employing machine learning to continuously optimize the operator’s experience. Key technical areas of focus include advanced network telemetry, big data mechanisms for scalable data gathering, and model-driven policy frameworks for intelligent service operation. The first meeting of the ISG ENI is scheduled for April 10-11, 2017, at ETSI’s premises in Sophia Antipolis, France.
